Brownies have been skipping for charity.

A total of 16 Werrington Brownies took part in a Skipathon to raise cash for the British Heart Foundation. The challenge was organised by Werrington Girl Guide Heather Blurton as part of her work towards gaining a Baden Powell Award. Brownie leader Margaret Bowman said: "They all did very well and enjoyed taking part.

"We don't know how much was raised yet. We organised the skipathon as part of our 100th year of Brownies, and the event will also go towards the Brownie's work on their 'Healthy Heart' Badge."
