ACHIEVEMENT in all its forms was celebrated at Leek High School recently as it rounded off another school year with its annual awards ceremony.

Guest of honour was retired teacher Brian Lewis from Werrington, an ex-student of Leek High who recently published a book on the history of his old school.

Headteacher John Spencer said : "We were privileged to have Brian Lewis with us for Awards Evening this year.

"He is an educator with a vast experience and could appreciate what a talented group of young people we have here. It is wonderful to be able to reward the youngsters who have had to overcome difficulties and those whose academic abilities shine."
