Artists are being invited to submit creations for this year's Staffordshire Moorlands Open Art.
Once again creative people are invited to submit entries for this year's Staffordshire Moorlands Open Art Exhibition which is held at the Gallery in The Nicholson Institute, Stockwell Street, Leek.
Clare Mellor and Georgia Hamilton-Smith, organisers of the exhibition, say they have been overwhelmed in previous years by the quality and range of art that has been submitted from across the region and beyond.
This year they are hoping to attract a range of artists both new and existing to showcase a broad spectrum of the creative talents they know are abundant across the area.
Clare said: "We really want to encourage all of the artists located around the area and beyond to consider entering their work in the exhibition.
"This is a true 'open' which means you don't have to be a professional artist to enter your work, we have seen some extraordinary talent from artists in previous years. We are looking for art that covers photography, painting and drawing, contemporary applied art and sculpture."
Georgia added: "Last year we had a number of new artists joining the exhibition for the first time. We would love to build upon previous success and invite more newcomers again this year."
The exhibition will run from Saturday, April 12 until Saturday, May 17.
Art should be handed in on Saturday, April 5 at the Nicholson Gallery between 10.30am and 3.30pm. Up to three submissions can be made for an entry fee of £10.
Alike to past years, the Staffordshire Moorlands Open Art Exhibition forms part of the annual Leek Arts Festival calendar of events and provides artists with a fantastic opportunity to present their work to an independent panel of judges.
The organisers run the exhibition voluntarily and any funds raised are ploughed back into the event providing prize money for a 2D/3D category and photographic category prize alongside a public vote prize and an SMDC sponsored prize too.
The prize ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 17 at 1pm at the Nicholson Gallery.
