PUPILS at Manifold School in Warslow have brightened up their new reception and corridors with paintings after working with an artist for two days.

Artist Lianne Woodward visited the school last week to show pupils from years three and four how to design and make the artwork.

Each class made a large wall hanging which will now be placed in the new modernised areas. Three designs were completed by the students which were of the village church, a landscape view of Thors Cave, which is a nearby local beauty spot, and one of wildlife in the area.

Headteacher Jean Fletcher said: "The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Three large panels have been completed which will all be placed in our new modernised reception and corridor area which we have had refurbished.

"The new hangings will definitely brighten up the space."

"We are very grateful for the support of the Warslow and Elkstones Educational Charity who have supported the venture with funding."
