Police are trying to trace the occupants of two vehicles following a suspicious incident in Knypersley.

At approximately 6.40pm on Thursday 16 January a 38-year-old woman followed a dark blue/purple Renault Clio – a ‘Compact’ model – along Greenway Bank.

Approximately 100-200 yards from the Bemersley Road junction, Bemersley Green, the woman noticed a white 4x4 vehicle parked in an entrance to a field and two men standing by the side of the road.

The Renault Clio stopped and was approached by one of the men, believed to be in possession of a baseball bat.

The woman was concerned by this suspicious activity and left. She then called police. She was not approached or spoken to by any of the men.

The first man (believed to be in possession of the bat) is described as white, with a stocky build and aged in his 50’s. He had short, grey receding hair.

The second man is described as white, aged in his 20’s, with a slight build and brown, short hair. He was wearing a three-quarter length black coat.

House-to-house inquiries have been carried out in the area in a bid to identify the occupants of the Renault Clio and 4x4.

If you were in the area at the time, or know who these individuals are, contact PC Walter Jameson at Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 568 of January 16, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
