Appeal after man hurt in egg attack

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was injured after someone threw an egg at him from a passing vehicle.

Between 8.45am and 9am on Friday 25th July a 64-year-old male was injured on School Lane, Caverswall, after having an egg thrown at him from a passing vehicle as he walked along the road with his wife.

The male sustained bruising and soreness to his chest as a result of this incident.

PC Dave Stubbs, of Cheadle's Local Policing Team, said: "This was an unprovoked assault and I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to contact me on 101 quoting VDU 181 of 25/07/2014.
