A PRESS appeal to help catch people wanted in suspicion of shoplifting in a town centre has been a success.

Cheadle Police asked the Post & Times to print still images taken from CCTV cameras in ASDA in Cheadle of people who they wanted to speak to in connection with shoplifting incidents around the town.

Police have now, as a result, been able to identify some of the suspects and deal with them accordingly.

PC Dave Stubbs, of Cheadle local policing team, said: "The publication of stills in your paper has been very successful.
