An olympic gold medallist from the Staffordshire Moorlands helped to officially start the London Marathon.
Anna Watkins, from Longsdon, near Leek, was joined by her rowing team mate Katherine Grainger in starting the event on Sunday. The duo, who won rowing's double sculls gold at London 2012, also joined the 36,000 runners who took part in the 26.2 mile race. Anna, who had her first child William in September, competed as part of a squad of runners raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Anna completed the London Marathon in just over four hours.
