Experience may be more important than qualifications for most of the seasonal jobs up for grabs at Alton Towers Resort, but for the Entertainments team, it’s all about the talent!

The Resort is now recruiting for around 50 highly motivated and engaged performers to bring the fantastical characters and live shows to life – including those in the amazing new CBeebies Land, due to open in May.

Pete Cliff, Entertainments’ Creative Manager explains, “2014 is going to be an epic year for the Resort as we open the world’s first CBeebies Land, but for the Entertainments team the challenge is really on as there are going to be so many new show based experiences on offer.

"We’re therefore looking for performers with a range of skills – dance and movement, singing, acting, costume character performing – to become part of our team.

"Big Fun ShowTime is our newest entertainments venue at the heart of CBeebies Land and it will feature a number of the channel’s most iconic characters so we’re setting our sights high to find the right people to bring them to life.

“We will also be repeating our swashbuckling pirates’ adventures in Mutiny Bay, have all of our much loved Hotel characters back for another season and will continue with the live improvisation shows that we do out and about throughout the Resort. The ability to interact with guests of all ages is therefore essential, as is a sense of humour and commitment to hard work!”

Auditions will be held at venues across the UK starting on Thursday 30th and Friday 31st January at the Pineapple Dance Studios in London (10.30am registration) and then on the 4th February at the Quality Hotel in Stoke on Trent (10am registration for costume performers and presenters and 2pm for actors), Sunshine Studios in Manchester on the 6th and 7th February (10.30am registration) and Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham on the 10th and 11th February (10am registration).

Where there are two dates, the first will be for actors and the 2nd for costume performers/presenters.

“Working in our shows team really is a brilliant way to gain experience in a variety of skills, which will be massively beneficial if you want to progress in your career,” continued Pete.

“One of our ex-employees is currently in a panto at the Birmingham Hippodrome with Gok Wan and another has joined a pop group, so you really never know what doors Alton Towers Resort may open for you!”
