PRESIDENT June Sherratt welcomed members and visitors to our July Meeting.

June thanked the two ladies who helped her at the Centenary of NFWI get-together.

The four institutes of the Churnet Valley Group gathered at Froghall Station to pass the Baton onto the Manifold Valley Group.

At this event our ladies had taken craft items to sell on their stall.

June said there was a good attendance but was disappointed that more of our members had not joined in on this special occasion.

Three 'thank you' letters had been received from Margaret Sherratt, Sue Goodwin for our help at the Flower Festival and the Donna Louise Trust for our donation.

Barbara was collecting names and money for the Mystery Trip on to be held on 12th August, leaving the Village Hall at 6pm.

We still have seats available and if any friends would like to join us they should contact Barbara or Pat by next Tuesday.

Pat read the minutes of the last meeting and then gave out details of information sent from Stafford.

June then introduced Susan Hyde, Image Consultant, whose talk was entitled 'Colour me Beautiful'.

She began by saying that most of us only actually wear about 20 per cent of the clothes in our wardrobe, the rest get very little use.

Wearing the correct colour is most important and can make a bit difference to how we look.

Based on our eyes, hair colour and skin tone we are either suited to warm or cool colours.

Our two volunteers,June and Pat, showed that they are both different types and fortunately each seemed to be wearing the correct colours to suit them.

We had a questionnaire to complete which caused a lot of amusement when we found what our scores added up to.

Susan concluded her talk by demonstrating the difference wearing something light near to our face with some jewellery compared with plain black T-shirt. Pauline Clarke gave the Vote of Thanks.

Our 'competition table' was covered with colourful scarves from which Susan chose her three favourites: 1st Monica; 2nd Paula; and 3rd Pat.

Everyone was reminded that we meet at 6pm next month for the Mystery Trip and Meal.

Anyone wanting more details, please contact Pat on 01782 303684.
