THE July monthly meeting was a huge success.

Twenty-two members travelled by coach to Bakewell, enjoying the countryside views plus the sunshine on the way there.

When arriving at our destination we visited the Bakewell Pudding Shop where we all had a go at baking a pudding.

While these were put in the oven we enjoyed a very tasty meal.

Some of us had a Bakewell pudding for our desert. Afterwards the puddings were judged and the winner was Marjorie Wilton.

After the business was conducted we were able to buy items from the shop which included, of course, Bakewell Puddings.

Birthday wishes were given to Carol Gibson, Karen McCarthy, Brenda Smith, Enid Carr and Marion Hall.

Anniversary congratulations went to Phyllis and Bill Hankey.

Flowers were presented to Marjorie and Les Wilton for their golden wedding anniversary plus a card, as were those given belatedly to Josie and Brian for their ruby anniversary.

The competition for a pretty bracelet was won by Pam Kent, second Josie McCarthy and third Elizabeth Brammeld.

Next month's meeting is a talk by Harvey Murray-Smith on Kew Palace and the competition is for a jug of flowers from your own garden.
