Global health watchdog, World Health Organisation, have released a new report advising that Electronic cigarettes should be banned from indoor use due to fears that exhaled vapour pose a health risk to bystanders.

The World Health Organisation expressed concerns that e-cigarettes still carry the same risks of passive smoking from the ‘toxicant’ emissions and are encouraging legal steps to be taken to ban e-cigarettes in public indoor spaces and workplaces.

They also wish to stop sales to children and introduce rules against fruit, sweet or alcoholic-drink style flavours which might encourage younger smokers.

Around 2.1million people in the UK currently use e-cigarettes and although they will be regulated as medicines, this isn’t due until 2016.
