A POPULAR eighties band member and night club owner will be visiting the Staffordshire Moorlands this Spring.
Leek DJ Anthony Grain will be hosting his next Blitz Night at The Winking Man in Upperhulme, near Leek, on Saturday, April 5.
And eighties music lovers are in for a real treat, as not only is award-winning act Electro 80s performing, but so too is Steve Strange of Visage fame.
Anthony said: "For those of you that don't know, Steve Strange was one of the biggest night club owners of the UK, entertaining stars like David Bowie, Spandau Ballet, plus many more top 80s pop stars. He was also a music and band promoter and 80s fashion icon then turned his talents to front man of group Visage with Midge Ure from Ultravox , releasing classics like 'Fade to Grey' and 'Mind of a Toy'."
Anthony, who will also be providing a disco at the Blitz Night after the live performances, added: "Steve Strange is one of my heroes.
"I have met him twice over the last 12 months.
"One time I purchased a VIP ticket at one of his shows so that I could meet him. One of Steve's clubs was called Blitz Club in London. To get one of the biggest night club owners to come along and perform at one of our Blitz Nights is brilliant."
Tickets for the Blitz Night at The Winking Man on Saturday, April 5, are priced at £10 and are available from the venue, Elmos in Leek's Market Place, or The Rhythm House Music Shop in Hope Street, Hanley.
